Tools, offline use and editing limits. Reviewed 9 October 2026.
Arrange and combine PDFs, extract pages, resize sheets, make booklets, compare page images, annotate, sign visually, fill AcroForms, redact marked regions into image-only PDFs, create templates and recognize Arabic/English text. These tools use the libraries bundled with this installation.
Exports retain the original filename and Pwaraq branding, for example contract-waraq-annotated.pdf. A merged document uses the first source name unless you change it.

PDF.js renders the pages. Tesseract runs in a local WebAssembly worker using bundled Arabic and English language models. Choose either language or both, process up to 20 pages, review the recognized text and download it as TXT. No account or external OCR service is needed for this tool.
A searchable PDF is a separate operation: the optional OCRmyPDF engine preserves page images and adds a text layer. It requires a configured processing engine. OCR can misread letters, columns and numbers; review the result.

Use the main app's offline download panel. The complete website ZIP includes local PDF libraries and OCR models. With Node.js 22+ already installed, run START-PWARAQ.cmd on Windows or node server.cjs on another system.
You can also serve the ZIP's dist folder through an HTTP/HTTPS static server, including under a subdirectory. Opening its HTML using file:// is unsupported. Native conversion engines require separate dependencies; downloading the web app does not install them.
“Save app in this browser” prepares the application and OCR models for offline use at the same address. Browser storage may be cleared; keep the ZIP for a durable copy.

Pwaraq is not yet a complete Acrobat replacement. PDF4QT and ONLYOFFICE PDF Editor are candidates for deeper editing integration. They are not bundled here.

We reviewed Acrobat online, iLovePDF and opdf.io as product references. Opdf describes browser-local tools, but an official source repository and license were not verified, so it is not presented as an open-source integration. The offline kit contains the detailed capability audit and open-source research.
Stirling, qpdf, LibreOffice and OCRmyPDF connections are optional. Their tools appear ready only when the companion reports support. A remote engine receives your file after the explicitly labeled processing action.
